The Detail Between Materials
The most refined residential spaces often depend on the smallest transitions.
A reveal, shadow line, trim condition, or change in floor material can quietly determine whether a space feels resolved.
I like to treat transitions as part of the design language from the beginning rather than as details to solve at the end. That makes the architecture feel calmer because junctions are intentional and repeated.
Good detailing does not have to call attention to itself. Often the goal is the opposite: to make the construction feel inevitable.
